Step-by-Step Instructions for Real Estate Agents
This guide will help you download and format your listing media from the property portal and successfully upload it to your MLS. It includes solutions for image size issues and instructions for uploading photos, video tours, floor plans, and 3D walkthroughs.

This will take you to your property portal, where you will find:
-
Download options for photos (Full Size, MLS Size, Custom Size)
-
Property media (photos, videos, floor plans, 3D tours)
-
Direct links for virtual tours (such as Matterport or Zillow 3D)
-
2. Downloading and Resizing Photos for MLS Upload
Most MLS systems have limits on image file sizes and dimensions. If your photos are rejected during upload, follow the steps below to download MLS-optimized versions.
To download MLS-sized images:
-
In your property portal, locate the "Download Photos" section.
-
Choose the "MLS Size" option. These images are pre-formatted to meet most MLS size and resolution requirements.
If you need a custom size:
-
Select the "Custom Download" option in the property portal.
-
Enter your preferred image width (for example, 1920px or 2048px).
-
Download the resized images and save them to your computer.
Common MLS photo requirements:
-
Maximum width: typically 2048 pixels
-
File format: JPG (not PNG, HEIC, or TIFF)
-
Maximum file size: often 1–2MB per image
-
Photo limit: some MLS platforms limit the number of photos (usually 40–50)
If your upload fails, double-check that your images meet the above criteria.
3. Uploading Photos to the MLS
-
Log in to your MLS account and open your listing's edit screen.
-
Navigate to the Media or Photos section.
-
Select “Add Photos” or “Upload”.
-
Choose the MLS-sized or custom-resized images from your computer.
-
Confirm and save your changes.
If the MLS still rejects any files, confirm that:
-
The file format is JPG
-
The width does not exceed 2048px
-
The file size is under the MLS’s size limit
4. Adding Virtual Tours, Videos, and Floor Plans to Your Listing
Virtual Tours (Matterport, Zillow 3D, etc.):
-
In the property portal, copy the unbranded virtual tour link (e.g., Matterport or Zillow).
-
In your MLS, locate the “Virtual Tour” or “Unbranded Tour URL” field.
-
Paste the link into this field.
Important: Only use unbranded tour links in the MLS. Branded links (which include agent names, logos, or contact information) are not allowed in most MLS systems.
Video Tours (YouTube, Vimeo):
-
First post the video on a social platform like Instagram, Facebook, YouTube etc. On the social platform, click "share" on the video and copy the link it provides.
-
Paste it into the “Video URL” field in your MLS listing editor.
Videos should be public or unlisted. Private videos may not display correctly on the listing.
Floor Plans:
-
Download the floor plan from the property portal as a JPG or PDF file.
-
In your MLS listing, go to the Documents or Supplemental Media section.
-
Upload the floor plan file as directed by your MLS.
If your MLS does not accept PDFs, you may need to convert the floor plan to a JPG file before uploading.
